Governor Gavin Newsom gave Fresno-based company Bitwise a shout out for its part in helping unemployed Californians find work.
During his daily briefing, the California governor announced that the website, OnwardCA Coalition, aims to help those who lost their job during the coronavirus pandemic return to the workforce.
“The idea we could be helpful to people who are hurting in this moment is deeply motivating to us.” said Bitwise Industries President Jake Soberal.
Right now, there are over 70,000 job opportunities listed on the site.
Most are in the healthcare, agriculture, logistics and grocery industries — essential businesses not affected by the statewide “stay-at-home” order.
In the last week, Bitwise put 100 previously unemployed people to work on data collection teams.
